[ • ]Arkive
A rigid, offline-first family archival system designed to index and preserve multimedia artifacts across generations without relying on cloud subscriptions.

The Problem
Modern digital storage encourages hoarding without curation. Cloud platforms compress memories and hold them ransom to monthly fees, while physical hard drives are prone to failure and incredibly difficult to browse systematically.
The System
Arkive rejects infinite scrolling. It forces a rigid taxonomy on uploads: Year, Season, Subject.
By applying physical museum cataloging principles to a local NAS drive, retrieving a memory becomes a deliberate, structured act of observation rather than an algorithmic feed.
